How to Peel an Avocado - There's so much to love about avocados, the gorgeous green fruit. Undoubtedly, they make your dishes unbelievably delicious and nutritious. Check out my favorite way to cut and peel avocados using a simple, easy and safe method. If avocados aren’t already on your breakfast menu, they should be. These beautiful green fruits are sure to leave you satisfied with their high nutrition content. In fact, that’s the one of the many reasons why I love them so much. Even though, in my opinion, the ideal to enjoy them is on toasted bread with poached or fried egg, feel free to get creative, and incorporate them into smoothies, shakes, dinner sides and so on.

So, what’s the safest way to peel and cut an avocado? While you might have come across so many different ways all over the social media and everywhere on the internet, here’s my tried and tested method to do it easily and quickly. Totally fool proof!

How to Peel an Avocado

Equipment

  • 1 knife

Materials

  • 1 avocado

Instructions

  • Using a sharp knife, slice the avocado, starting at the stem.
  • Once the knife hit the pit, slice all the way around the pit.
  • Using your hands. Separate it into two halves by twisting it to both sides.
  • Take the avocado slice with the pit in it, and gently press down on the outer surface of the avocado to push the pit out(Just like you remove yolk from a hard boiled egg).
  • Discard the pit.
  • Gently peel the skin to slice or chop the avocado flesh, or scoop out the flesh with a spoon to mash avocado.
