Lemon pepper chicken. A one pan dish brimming with the deliciousness of succulent chicken, fresh lemon, black pepper and garlic. Rub chicken with lemon pepper seasoning, simmer in lemon butter garlic sauce, and serve with pasta, potatoes or green beans. A simple, fast and easy chicken dinner idea full of flavor!

Let’s be real: Whipping up delicious meals everyday of the week is a herculean task. Planning, gathering ingredients, and the whole process of cooking is obviously time consuming and tedious. Well, here’s a delicious recipe to make eating nutritiously balanced food a whole lot easier.

Lemon pepper chicken. Season chicken with lemon pepper seasoning, and then cook in lemon garlic butter sauce. Sounds delicious, right? So, if you’re after ways to incorporate healthy meals into your menu, this recipe is for you.

Lemon Pepper Chicken Recipe

Fry chicken - To make this dish, you’ll need thin chicken breasts or thinly sliced large chicken breasts. Season chicken with lemon pepper seasoning combined with a little flour. Don’t forget a light sprinkle of salt. Coat chicken with the flour mixture on both sides, shake off excess, and fry until cooked through.

Simmer chicken in lemon garlic butter sauce - Start with sauteing garlic in butter. Add chicken broth and lemon juice, let it come to a boil and simmer for about 2-3 minutes. When the sauce starts to thicken slightly, add chicken and heat through. A generous sprinkle of chopped parsley is obviously an absolutely delicious addition.

Ingredients

Fry chicken:

  • ¼ cup all purpose flour plain flour
  • 2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • 2 large chicken breasts halved lengthwise horizontally
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Lemon butter garlic sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 garlic cloves chopped
  • ½ cup chicken broth stock
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt to taste

Garnish:

  • Chopped parsley
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Lemon wedges

To serve:

  • Buttered pasta sautéed green beans or mashed potatoes

Instructions

Fry chicken:

  • Combine together flour and lemon pepper seasoning in a large bowl. Season with salt. Coat chicken in the flour mixture. Shake off excess. Set aside.
  • Meanwhile, heat oil in a large frying pan or skillet over medium heat.
  • Add chicken. Cook, 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Remove from pan. Set aside.

Lemon butter garlic sauce:

  • Add butter.
  • When hot, add garlic. Sauté, stirring, for about 1 minute or until fragrant.
  • Add chicken broth (stock) and lemon juice. Stir to combine. Simmer for about 3-4 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Check seasoning and add salt if needed.

Lemon pepper chicken:

  • Add chicken back to the pan. Heat through.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley, ground pepper and lemon wedges.
  • Serve with buttered pasta, sautéed green beans or mashed potatoes.
