How To Make Five Spice Garlic Chili Oil Noodles
Trust me, this is the quickest and easiest noodles you could ever make. All you need to do is chop a few herbs, add a few ingredients that you already have on hand, and pour in the sizzling hot oil. Remember all the ingredients in this recipe are a “must” for optimum taste and flavor.
Start with chopping up spring onions (scallions) and coriander (cilantro) leaves. The garlic flavor in this recipe is truly exceptional, so make sure you add in a little minced fresh garlic. With the chili flakes, regular dried red chili flakes are the easiest option, but if you have Korean red chili flakes on hand, add them for extra flavor. The classic Asian ingredients, soy sauce and rice vinegar, take this garlic chili oil noodles to another level.
Place all these ingredients in a bowl. Then heat up the oil in a frying pan. Wait until the oil gets super hot and add in the five spice powder. Pour the oil into the bowl immediately. Make sure you don’t burn the spices. I really love that cool sizzling sound of the oil when it’s poured into the bowl.
Finally, toss the cooked noodles in chili oil. When it comes to the toppings, your creativity and imagination is your best friend. I love the addition of cucumbers and fried egg. A generous sprinkle of sesame seeds would be equally delicious.
