Serradura | Saw Dust Pudding

4 Comments Published February 18, 2026 Updated February 20, 2026

Serradura. This impressive dessert is only minutes away with the decadent layers of crushed Marie biscuits and sweet whipped cream. The layers steal the show in the classic pudding, and are totally customizable with your favorite flavor. The biscuit adds the perfect finishing touch. This easy peasy, simple dessert is a game changer!

Why I Love This Decadent Dessert

So a dessert with no complicated steps and no mystical ingredients, which means it’s easy to make that you don’t even need a recipe. How cool is that? It’s slightly crunchy, creamy, and fancy enough that your guests will think you spent hours on it. And you can customise it with clever inclusions. Want to fold in pureed berries? Go for it. Prefer a nutty nutella version? Do it. Need coffee infusion? Totally possible.

Call it Portuguese or Indian, this creamy goodness stacked in a glass is next level decadence. Just layers of crushed biscuits and cream, it’s that simple. This dessert masterpiece comes together in two steps. Crush the biscuits into fine crumbs, and whip up some cream with a bit of condensed milk and vanilla extract. For assembling, grab a glass, add a sprinkle of biscuit crumbs, few spoonfuls of cream, and repeat. Simple layers, but way prettier and insanely decadent.

Key Ingredients In Serradura

serradura ingredients
  • Biscuits - They form the crunchy, saw dust like base of the pudding.
  • Cream - The key ingredient of the cream layer.
  • Condensed milk - Adds sweetness to the cream layer.

How To Make Serradura

Prep the layers - Marie biscuits crushed into fine crumbs form the first layer. The second layer is fresh cream whipped with condensed milk and pure vanilla extract. You can also use vanilla beans. With condensed milk, add more or less to adjust the sweetness.

Assemble the pudding - Add alternating layers of biscuits and cream like classic trifle. You can make this in a big trifle bowl or in mini glasses.
