6 Comments Published April 26, 2025 Updated May 20, 2025

Pickled grapes. A refreshing burst of deliciousness packed in a fruit - that’s what these pickled goodies are all about. Perfectly curated to look and taste extra special, the tangy pickling liquid contrasts the sweetness of grapes. Add these to cheese boards and sandwiches, or pair with grilled meat.

Pickles, especially the fruit version, are on trend at the moment, and I don’t think I have to tell you why. The sweetness of fruits adding the ultimate contrast to the tangy pickling juice - you’ll definitely love this idea. They are perfect for your everyday sandwiches, but are also ideal for holiday cheese boards and special occasion dinners. Let me tell you, these pickles go with everything.

Honestly, your sandwiches and cheese boards are not complete without this clever idea, and you can’t go wrong with tangy grapes that screams scrumptious. Paired with green chilies to level up the heat, the flavor combo is absolutely amazing. These are addictingly good, I just can’t wait to make this a staple in my menu rotation when grapes are in season.

Key Ingredients In Pickled Grapes

pickled grapes ingredients
  • Grapes - Green grapes are the first choice, however, you can also use red grapes.
  • Green chilies - These are ideal if you love the contrasting flavors of sweet, sour, and spice.
  • Whole spices - Cinnamon and bay leaf add another layer of flavor.
  • Apple cider vinegar - Vinegar is the quintessential element of all pickles, and you can sub cider vinegar with regular white vinegar of you like.
  • Ground all spice - Subtle spice mix accentuates the flavor, but it’s totally optional.

How To Make Pickled Grapes

Make the pickling liquid - This is just a simple combination of vinegar, salt, sugar and spices. The spices include cinnamon, bay leaf and all spice. While bay leaf and cinnamon are a ‘must’ in this recipe, all spice is totally optional. Again, you can use your favorite vinegar in this recipe like white wine vinegar or regular white vinegar. To make the juice, place all the ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for about 5 minutes. While simmering, the juice is infused with the flavors of the spices. Make sure the mixture cools down before adding to the grapes.

Add the liquid to grapes - Apart from green grapes, I have also added some green chilies to the pickle. If you love a bit of heat, it’s a great addition. I love the exceptional contrast of sweet and spicy flavors, it’s simply amazing. Add the pickling juice to the grapes and green chilies. Make sure you store this in the refrigerator as the moisture content in grapes is too high.

Will try this, sad that it only lasts 2/3 days. Any other chutney/pickle recipes?
