In short, all the elements of this dish bring a massive flavor explosion in your mouth. Truth to be told, it’s beyond amazing!
Shrimp Crostini With Avocado Recipe
Start with slicing the baguette into thin slices. I used sourdough baguette in this recipe, but feel free to use your favorite. To make the crispy little toasts, all you need to do is drizzle them with olive oil and bake in the oven.
Guacamole or mashed avocados with herbs and spices is going to be the topping for these crostinis. The creamy dreamy green guacamole is one of my favorite dips, and it’s going to be the perfect topping for this shrimp crostini.
The crostinis are then topped with spiced shrimp or prawns. Toss the peeled prawns in a little paprika or red chili powder, and season with salt and pepper. Fry the shrimp in a pan until both sides are cooked. This will only take about 2-3 minutes.

Ingredients
Guacamole:
Shrimp (prawns):
- 20 shrimp (prawns), peeled and deveined
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Crostini:
- 1 baguette, cut into 1-inch thick slices
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
To serve:
- Coriander (cilantro) leaves
- 1 red chili, sliced
Instructions
- Make guacamole following recipe instructions. Set aside.
- Place shrimp (prawns) in a bowl. Add paprika. Toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper.
- Meanwhile, place a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon oil. Once the oil is hot, place shrimp (prawns) in the pan in a single layer. Fry for about 2 minutes or until golden. Flip over and fry again for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat. Set aside.
- Preheat oven to 180 C or 350 F. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Place baguette slices on the baking tray in a single layer. Drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 15-20 minutes. (Alternatively, you can toast the baguette in a pan over stovetop)
- To assemble, top toasted baguettes with guacamole, shrimp (prawns), coriander (cilantro) leaf and red chili.
