Sausage and egg Mcmuffin. Perfectly round fried eggs, sausage patties, classic English muffins - what’s not to love about your all-time breakfast favorite from McDonalds? Warm & delicious, this is the best way to start a perfect day of your life.
When it comes to fast food, I want every bite to be loaded with complex flavors and deliciousness. To be exact, it’s just the opposite of simplicity. However, sometimes simple food take the spotlight just because of the deliciousness factor.
So when McDonalds released their sausage and egg mcmuffin recipe to make cooking and eating at home more delicious, I just couldn’t wait to try it. Utterly delicious with the right amount of protein and carbs for the perfect start to the day. Ok, let’s cook together.
The recipe is pretty straightforward. Before you start, gather all the ingredients. And this includes English muffins, sausage mince and egg. You’ll also need a special equipment to make those fried eggs perfectly round. Egg rings. You can use either metal or silicone egg rings to create the perfect shape. Make sure you spray the egg rings with a little oil before you cook the eggs.
Let’s make sausage and egg mcmuffins
First, toast the muffins. Heat up a little butter, and brown them until crispy. I really love the beautiful texture of crispy & brown toasted muffins. Just heavenly! Next up, the eggs. As I mentioned, you’ll need to use egg rings to make beautiful round eggs. Place the greased egg ring in the pan. As you can see in the video, I’ve used silicone egg rings in this recipe. Now, break egg into the ring. Pour in a little water and cover the pan with a lid. Cook eggs to your liking. Runny yolks or well cooked - it’s your choice.
Now, the third and final element of this mcmuffin - sausage mince. Simply season it with salt and pepper, make small patties out of the mixture, and fry them until cooked through and beautifully browned on both sides. You’ll also need American cheese slices which are, unfortunately, not easily available in here in Australia. So, I decided to go with the second best option - Kraft cheese slices. However, you can use any cheese you like. Brilliant!
Let’s assemble this delicious sausage and egg mcmuffin. Start with muffin, top with cheese, sausage patty, egg, and another muffin. Another technique involved in this recipe is melting the cheese on the sausage patty. Melting cheese is pure heaven!
