Instant Pot Beef Curry
Succulent beef curry made quick and easy in an instant pot!
Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1-inch fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, peeled and chopped
- 1 large tomato, finely chopped
- 1 3-inch stick cinnamon or 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric (turmeric powder)
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander (coriander powder)
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 kg gravy or chuck steak (or braising steak), cut into 2.5 cm cubes
- Juice from 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup water
- Chopped coriander (cilantro) leaves, for garnish
- Cooked basmati rice, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Place onions, ginger, garlic, tomato, ground turmeric, ground coriander, garam masala, red chili powder, beef, lemon juice and water in instant pot.
- Season with salt.
- Stir to combine.
- Seal the instant pot lid.
- Cook on high pressure for 20 minutes.
- Let the pressure release naturally.
- Open the lid.
- If the sauce is too thin, transfer beef to a bowl and then simmer the sauce on sauté mode until it has thickened.
- Garnish with chopped (coriander leaves) cilantro if you like.

Variations:-

I was cynical about this recipe, just seemed too easy. Oh my word it’s magnificent! I didn’t have any fresh tomato so used 2tbl spoons of tomato puree ( paste) on top , not stirred through. Will definitely be making again 10/10 for easiness and flavour.
