Lemon Pepper Chicken Recipe
Fry chicken – To make this dish, you’ll need thin chicken breasts or thinly sliced large chicken breasts. Season chicken with lemon pepper seasoning combined with a little flour. Don’t forget a light sprinkle of salt. Coat chicken with the flour mixture on both sides, shake off excess, and fry until cooked through.
Simmer chicken in lemon garlic butter sauce – Start with sauteing garlic in butter. Add chicken broth and lemon juice, let it come to a boil and simmer for about 2-3 minutes. When the sauce starts to thicken slightly, add chicken and heat through. A generous sprinkle of chopped parsley is obviously an absolutely delicious addition.

Ingredients
Fry chicken:
- 1/4 cup all purpose (plain) flour
- 2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning
- 2 large chicken breasts, halved lengthwise horizontally
- 2 tablespoons oil
Lemon butter garlic sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1/2 cup chicken broth (stock)
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt to taste
Garnish:
- Chopped parsley
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Lemon wedges
To serve:
- Buttered pasta, sautéed green beans or mashed potatoes
Instructions
Fry chicken:
- Combine together flour and lemon pepper seasoning in a large bowl. Season with salt. Coat chicken in the flour mixture. Shake off excess. Set aside.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in a large frying pan or skillet over medium heat.
- Add chicken. Cook, 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Remove from pan. Set aside.
Lemon butter garlic sauce:
- Add butter.
- When hot, add garlic. Sauté, stirring, for about 1 minute or until fragrant.
- Add chicken broth (stock) and lemon juice. Stir to combine. Simmer for about 3-4 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Check seasoning and add salt if needed.
Lemon pepper chicken:
- Add chicken back to the pan. Heat through.
- Garnish with chopped parsley, ground pepper and lemon wedges.
- Serve with buttered pasta, sautéed green beans or mashed potatoes.
