Whether you’re looking for delicious ways to use up all the leftovers from your holiday dinner or just want to whip up an easy weeknight recipe, these tacos are the way to go. I really love the fresh vibrant colors in these tacos that invite you to sit down and enjoy every bite. Not to mention the amazing flavors that make them taste incredible.
For the core ingredient of these turkey tacos, I used leftovers from tandoori turkey. Tandoori chicken also pairs really well with the rest of the flavors in this recipe. All you need to do is shred the turkey meat and discard the bones.
Store bought tortillas form the base of these tacos. Choose your favorite flour or corn tortillas, heat them up over the stovetop or microwave just before you add in the fillings.
Avocado salsa, with its vibrant pop of colors, brings in a lot of visual interest to the tacos. The cheery vegetables like avocados, tomatoes and herbs add that refreshing touch that I really love.
Finally, a dollop of sour cream to complete the picture.

Healthy Turkey Tacos
Ingredients
- 8 tortillas flour or corn
- 3 cups shredded turkey meat from Tandoori Turkey
- 2 cups avocado salsa
- ¼ cup sour cream
- Chaat masala to sprinkle over tacos (optional)
- ½ cup sliced red onions
Instructions
- Warm tortillas over the stove top or in the microwave. Divide shredded turkey evenly among the tortillas. Top them with avocado salsa and red onions. Add a dollop of sour cream. Sprinkle with chaat masala if you like.
