Cheese naan. Add a touch of cheesy delight to your favorite flatbread with this delicious naan recipe. You won’t believe how easy it is to create these simple flatbreads stuffed with cheese.
I’ve always been a huge fan of the classic Indian flatbread called naan. Honestly, outside of the occasional takeaways to satisfy my cravings for Indian food, I rarely make them at home. But the other day, as I was whipping up a very delicious tikka masala curry, I decided to roll out some naans to soak up the lip-smacking sauce.
Enter this cheese naan. Fluffy flatbreads stuffed with the cheesy goodness of mozzarella. The recipe is super simple. Just the basic naan ingredients stuffed with loads of cheese. Trust me, these are so good!
Ooey, gooey, cheesy naan
I started with the basic butter naan recipe which is a simple combo of flour, butter, yogurt, milk and yeast. Well, this is my fool-proof recipe for fluffy naan. The addition of butter, yogurt and milk make it very rich in both flavor and taste.
The secret to perfect naan is well-risen dough. This in turn helps with easy rolling out, and you’ll be rewarded with the fluffiest naans ever.
In this cheese naan recipe, I’m thinking about naans stuffed with plenty of cheese, so when you bite into it, the warmth of the melting cheese welcomes you. Who doesn’t love cheese?
To create the perfectly stuffed flatbread, I decided to place shredded cheese between two layers of naan. Spread plenty of cheese on one naan, top with another naan, and seal the edges to make sure the melted cheese doesn’t ooze out.
Now, all you need to do is fry them either in cast iron pan or a grill pan. And get ready to bite into this cheesy flatbread.
Dip them into your favorite curry, and you are in for a treat. Seriously good!

Andi says
Can this, or part of it be made ahead of time? Can the dough be frozen?
Rose Mary George says
Yes, you can freeze this dough. Portion it out, wrap it in cling film and freeze it. Once frozen, place it in a freezer bag to store for the long term. 🙂
