Made with simple ingredients, this besan ladoo is a sweet classic that you can easily make at home. It’s the kind of recipe that you can whip up quickly to fix your sweet cravings. Plus, the two main ingredients in this recipe – chickpea flour and ghee – are super healthy for you.
How To Make Besan Ladoo
The recipe for this classic sweet only requires a few ingredients – besan (gram flour), ghee, sugar, cardamom and your favorite chopped nuts.
Start with heating up the ghee in a large pan. Once the ghee is hot, you will need to add besan. Besan or gram flour is basically ground chickpeas that’s loaded with protein. Make sure besan is sifted to remove lumps.
Now, stir fry besan or gram flour for about 10-12 minutes in ghee. Eventually, the flour gets combined with ghee to create a smooth ghee-laden mixture. At this stage, remove it from heat and set aside to cool.
The next step is mixing up the powdered sugar, cardamom and nuts. In this recipe, white sugar is powdered in a grinder before adding to the besan mixture. Again, do not use icing sugar. Once you mix everything together, roll out small sweet balls or ladoos. Roll them in more nuts and dried rose petals if you like.
