Spicy green beans. Regular sautéed green beans turned into a delicious side dish with the addition of garlic and red chili flakes. The best part? How about topping these green beans with some crunchy toasted coconut flakes.
Spicy Green Beans Recipe
- Blanch green beans – Fresh green beans are the perfect choice to make this dish. However, if fresh ones are not available, you can always opt for the frozen green beans. Again, trim the ends to prep the beans. To blanch, boil them in water for about 3 minutes so they’ll retain the color with a tender crisp texture. The blanched beans go straight into a bowl of iced water to stop the cooking process.
- Sauté green beans – Start with sauteing garlic in a little oil. You can also add butter if you like. Once the garlic is fragrant, add some red chili flakes and green beans. Give this a quick stir fry to coat the green beans in oil and garlic.
- Optional coconut flakes – Coconut flakes add a beautiful crunch as a topping for this spicy green beans dish. You can also get toasted coconut flakes and add as a topping.
