Puff pastry christmas trees. Puff pastry loaded with your favorite filling and shaped like christmas trees. Oh, don’t forget the beautiful stars cut out from pastry sheets.
Puff Pastry Christmas Trees Recipe
Puff pastry is the key element of this recipe. Frozen pastry thawed to room temperature to be exact. You’ll need about 4 pastry sheets to create the sweet pastries and 2 for the savory pastries.
Opt for a sweet spread like biscoff or nutella for the sweet version. Now all you need to do is spread one pastry sheet with the spread, top with another sheet and then cut into thin strips. Cut out stars from another pastry sheet lined with the spread.
For the savory version of puff pastry christmas trees, spread a delicious mixture of spinach and feta on one pastry sheet and layer with another pastry sheet. Again, cut out thin strips of pastry. For the tree top, we’ll use triangle cheese rolled in Italian seasoning.
To hold the tree shape of the pastry, you will wed to thread them into skewers and top with stars. Bake the savory trees without the cheese. Once they come out of the oven, you can add the cheese triangles.
