Strawberries and Chocolate Pastries

Easy pastries filled with a classic combo of strawberries and chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 1 and ½ cups strawberries chopped
  • ½ cup icing sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 13 cooking milk chocolate squares roughly chopped
  • 3 puff pastry sheets
  • White sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 190 degree Celsius.
  • Place chopped strawberries, icing sugar, and vanilla essence in a deep bowl. Mix well. Set aside.
  • Thaw 3 puff pastry sheets.
  • Use a round cookie cutter to cut out 9 circles from each sheet.Place one square piece of chopped chocolate over one puff pastry circle. Top it with a teaspoon of strawberries.
  • Place another pastry circle on top of it, and use a little amount of water to seal the edges.
  • Use a fork to seal the edges really well (as in the picture).
  • Continue the process until all the puff pastry circles are used up. (I’d one extra pastry circle in the end)
  • Line a baking tray with baking paper or parchment paper. Arrange the prepared pastries on the tray.
  • Make sure the tray is not too crowded. Leave a little space between the pastries, so they can puff up.
  • Sprinkle the pastries with white sugar. Place the tray in the oven. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden.
