Ingredients

  • 1-2 shots of espresso
  • 1 teaspoon unsalted cold butter
  • 10 ml pure maple syrup
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • ¼ cup milk
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Use your espresso machine to make espresso. Alternatively, use instant espresso powder.
  • Into the glass of hot espresso, add maple syrup, butter, and a small pinch of salt.
  • Whisk or froth the mixture vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. The butter should completely melt and become incorporated into the coffee, creating a glossy, lightly foamed mixture.
  • Fill a tall glass generously with ice, then pour in cold milk.
  • Slowly pour the warm espresso mixture over the milk and ice. Stir gently, taste and adjust the maple or salt if needed.

Notes

  • Milk - Whole milk is preferred, however, oat milk is an excellent alternative.
