Puff Pastry Snowflake | Video

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen puff pastry sheets thawed
  • 50 g unsalted butter melted
  • 3 tablespoon cinnamon sugar
  • Powdered sugar icing sugar, to dust pastry

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 200 C / 400 F
  • Place one thawed puff pastry sheet on a flat work surface.
  • Place a large bowl on the pastry sheet and cut out a large circle. Repeat with the other pastry sheet. Set aside.
  • Place one pastry sheet on a flat work surface
  • Spread evenly with cinnamon sugar
  • Top with another puff pastry sheet
  • Place a small bowl in the center of the pastry sheet
  • Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut from the edge of the bowl outward to make 16 wedges around the bowl.
  • Remove the bowl
  • Twist two of the wedges in toward each other and then pinch them together to seal.
  • Repeat the process to make 8 points to the snowflake
  • Brush the pastry with melted butter
  • Bake until the pastry is golden and puffed, about 20-25 minutes
  • Dust with powdered (icing) sugar

Notes

  • To make homemade cinnamon sugar, cmbine together 3 tablespoons white sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • Other filling ideas: nutella, biscoff spread, spinach feta mixture, pizza sauce, and cream cheese and strawberries
