Big Mac Bowl

A healthier twist on the Big Mac! Seasoned beef, crisp lettuce, pickles and signature sauce in a low-carb bowl.

Ingredients

Ground (minced) beef:

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 500 g ground (minced) beef
  • ¼ cup grated onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Big Mac sauce:

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup (tomato sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar

For the bowls:

  • 500 g French fries, homemade or store bought
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • ¼ cup pickles

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add beef. Cook, using a wooden spoon break up any lumps, for 5 minutes.
  • Add onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and paprika, and saute, stirring, for about 5 minutes or until beef is cooked. Season with salt and pepper.
  • To make the Big Mac sauce, combine together mayonnaise, yellow mustard, ketchup (tomato sauce), pickle relish and white vinegar in a small bowl.
  • Divide beef mixture among four serving bowls. Top with lettuce, fries and pickles. Drizzle over with Big Mac sauce.
