How To Make Turmeric Latte
Making this latte is all about boiling milk with a few spices. And yes, that includes ground turmeric, the essential element imparting the beautiful vibrant yellow hue to the milk. Essentially, it’s golden milk with the nutritional goodness of ground turmeric. Absolutely flavorful and delish!
Alongside turmeric, you will also need to add a dash of ground cinnamon and ground ginger. A pinch of nutmeg also delivers incredible flavor to this latte. The one element that gives this turmeric latte its depth of flavor is a light sprinkle of ground black pepper. It plays a huge role in this recipe by helping with the activation of ground turmeric.
Bring the milk to a simmer to let it get infused with the spices. Eventually, the milk will get a gorgeous golden color from the turmeric. After removing if from the stove, stir in some honey or maple syrup to add sweetness. And that’s it!

Healthy and warm turmeric latte or golden milk featuring the goodness of ground turmeric

Ingredients
- 500 ml (2 cups) full fat or whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric (turmeric powder)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (cinnamon powder)
- A pinch of ground black pepper (black pepper powder)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Ground cinnamon, to decorate (optional)
Instructions
- Place milk in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Add ground turmeric, ground ginger, ground cinnamon and ground black pepper. Stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Stir in honey.
- Divide the latte among two cups. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon if you like.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Substitute milk with coconut or almond milk for vegan version
- You can use honey or maple syrup as a sweetener in this recipe
- A pinch of nutmeg elevates the flavor, however, it’s totally optional
- Black pepper is a ‘must’ as it activates turmeric
