Quick and Easy Strawberry Trifle

quick and easy strawberry trifle

Who says desserts are hard to make and time consuming? Not me. And not you, after trying this divine quick and easy strawberry trifle recipe.

Since I discovered this trifle recipe a month ago, I'd made them twice already- first on a special occasion and then for some guests.

This dessert is inspired by my strawberry parfait, but comes in a simplified form. And a little spin on the original trifle to make it as simple as possible and drool-worthy.

The real bonus is you can tweak this recipe anyway you like.

Let's start from the base- biscuits. Plain sweet biscuits would be my first choice, but choc chip cookies or even cake slices are also great in this trifle.

The biscuits get soaked in the strawberries giving it a really nice texture.

You'll only need 4 of them, one for each glass. Or double the amount if you love biscuits. (Oh yes, there are 6 of them in the picture. See, in case you need more).

Coming to strawberries, we are going to crush them lightly with a quick whiz in the blender. There'll be plenty of hard strawberry bits in it, but that's just perfect.

Feel free to choose any berries you like. Or how about some juicy mangoes when they're in season.

Next, the whipped cream layer. You can use store bought whipped cream or cool whip. But why not do it yourself for a tastier version? Place cream, sugar and vanilla essence in a large bowl, grab your equipment (an electric mixer or a humble whisk), and whip until we get a pale, thick and glossy finish.

Divide cream among the glasses.

Lastly, the crunch. Place cornflakes on one side and wafer on the other side.

Now grab a spoon and dig in!
