Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet apples cored and sliced thinly
  • 2 puff pastry sheets thawed
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 egg lightly whisked
  • Ice cream to serve (optional)
  • Honey to serve

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180 C / 350 F. Line 2 large baking trays with baking paper. 
  • Cut each puff pastry sheet into 6 rectangles.
  • Spread 2 tablespoons honey on one end of the baking sheet.
  • Top with apple slices.
  • Drizzle with 2 teaspoons honey.
  • Top with one puff pastry rectangle. Press down gently to seal the edges.
  • Repeat with the remaining pastry sheets, honey and apple slices. 
  • Brush the pastry sheets with egg. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden.
  • Serve with ice cream and honey if you like.

  • Apples can be substituted with pears, peaches or nectarines 
  • Make a savory version of this recipe with cheese, asparagus or even roast veggies.
