Bring a large pot of water to boil.
Add green beans. Blanch for about 3 minutes or until bright green in color and tender crisp. Drain.
Add to a bowl of ice water. Drain. Blot dry.
Heat a large frying pan or skillet over medium heat.
Add oil. Add coconut flakes. Fry, stirring, for about a minute or until golden. Remove from pan. Set aside.
Add more oil if needed.
Add garlic. Sauté, stirring, for a few seconds or until fragrant.
Add green beans and red chili flakes. Season with salt and pepper.
Continue to sauté for about 5 minutes or until the green beans are coated in oil and heated through.
Top with toasted coconut flakes
