Ingredients

  • 8 bread slices I used wholemeal
  • 2 tablespoon pizza sauce store bought or homemade (see notes)
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • ¼ cup chopped bell pepper or capsicum red, yellow or green (I used red)
  • 16 pepperoni slices
  • 1 cup mozzarella
  • Butter

Instructions

  • Spread one side of 4 wholemeal slices with pizza sauce. Top with onions, bell peppers, pepperoni and mozzarella. Top with the remaining 4 bread slices.
  • To grill the sandwich, melt butter in a frying pan over medium flame. Place the prepared sandwiches in the pan one at a time. When one side turns golden, add more butter to the pan, and flip over the sandwich to toast the other side. Enjoy!
  • Alternatively, you can grill sandwiches in a sandwich maker.

Notes

- You can use tomato sauce or ketchup mixed with oregano or Italian seasoning instead of store bought pizza sauce if you like
