Naan/ Indian Flat Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose (plain) flour
  • 2 tablespoon natural yogurt or Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon dry yeast
  • ¼ cup oil/ melted butter
  • ¼ cup warm milk
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl, knead well and make dough. Cover the dough with a lid, and leave it in a warm place to rise for 20 minutes to 2 hours.
  • Knead the dough again. Make small balls out of it. Roll out the balls into tear drop shaped flat breads.
  • Now preheat the grill, and place a pizza stone under it.
  • When the stone is hot enough, lower the temperature, and place the flat bread on the stone. Cook.
  • Alternatively, you can also cook them on the stove top.

Notes

Glazing - Brush the flat breads with melted butter just before serving.
Garlic naan - Combine melted butter and garlic, and brush the flat breads with it.
