Ingredients

  • 200 g button mushrooms diced
  • 2 small garlic cloves chopped
  • 2 shallots chopped
  • cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 sprig of curry leaves
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Splutter mustard seeds. Add shallots. Saute for 2 minutes or until light brown.
  • Add garlic, curry leaves and green chili. Saute, stirring, for another 2 minutes. Add coconut and ground turmeric. Saute for a minute.
  • Stir in mushrooms. Season with salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-6 minutes or until mushrooms turn soft.
