or clams as they are called in some parts of the world, cleaned

mustard seeds

1 shallot
chopped

ground turmeric

garam masala

chilli powder

desiccated coconut

Instructions
Heat oil in a pan, and splutter mustard seeds.
Fry onion until golden brown.
Add garlic and ginger paste. Fry again.
Add the spices – ground turmeric, ground coriander, black pepper, chilli powder, and garam masala. Fry them along with grated coconut.
Throw in cleaned cockle meat and mix well.
Cover and cook.
Garnish with curry leaves and serve.
