Ingredients

  • 500 g minced ground meat
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray
  • 6 cheese slices American or cheddar

Assemble:

  • 6 burger buns
  • ¼ cup burger sauce homemade or store bought
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • 12 tomato slices

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 F or 190 C.
  • Line a baking tray with baking paper. 
  • Place minced (ground) meat in a large bowl.
  • Add onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, breadcrumbs and parsley. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Mix and shape into 6 thin burger patties.
  • Transfer to baking tray.
  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the patties. Ideally, the inside temperature needs to be 160 F or 71 C.
  • Top with cheese slices.
  • Transfer back to the oven for one minute or until cheese melts. 
  • To assemble, top the burger buns with burger sauce, burger patties, lettuce and tomatoes. Finish off with the top bun.

  • This recipe is very useful when you need to feed a crowd 
  • You can use fresh or dried parsley 
  • You can also use your favorite burger seasoning 
  • Make sure the burger patties are 100% cooked through 
  • Do you need to flip the burger patties while cooking? Absolutely no!
  • You can use the same method to cook pre-made patties in the oven
  • What’s the best way to cook patties? Both pan fried and baked patties are amazing. The latter may be ideal if you want to cook for a crowd
