Honey Butter Toast | Video

Ingredients

  • 8 bread slices I used brioche
  • 150 g unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • Chopped peanuts to decorate (optional)
  • Ice cream to decorate (optional)

Instructions

  • Combine together butter, brown sugar and honey in a bowl. Set aside.
  • Heat a frying pan or skillet over low heat.
  • Spread honey butter on one side of the bread slices.
  • Place the bread in the pan, buttered side down.
  • Spread the topside with 1 tablespoon honey butter.
  • When one side caramelizes and turns brown, flip over and toast the other side.
  • Repeat with the remaining slices. 
  • Serve with chopped roasted peanuts and ice cream if you like

Notes

    • Honey butter toast is usually made with shokupan or Japanese milk bread. And brioche bread is the best alternative.
    • For the gluten free version, use gluten free white bread
