Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe mango
  • ½ cup low fat Greek yogurt or plant based yogurt
  • ½ cup regular low fat milk or oat or almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • Mint leaves chopped mangoes, nuts, to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • If using fresh ripe mango, peel, deseed and cut the mango into cubes. Add them to ziplock bags and freeze for later use. Alternatively, you can use store bought frozen mangoes.
  • To make lassi, place frozen mangoes, yogurt, milk, honey and cardamom in a blender. Blend to a smooth purée.
  • Pour into two serving glasses.
  • Garnish with mint leaves, chopped mangoes or chopped nuts if you like.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can use your favorite sweet mango to make this lassi. I opted for honey gold. If mangoes are not in season, opt to frozen ones.
  • Remember the color and sweetness of the lassi depends on the variety of mango you use.
  • Add more or less milk depending on the consistency you like.
