Cauliflower Steak with Avocado Hollandaise | Video

Ingredients

  • 1 large head cauliflower
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Avocado hollandaise to serve

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 220 C / 425F. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Set aside.
  • Remove the leaves from cauliflower. Cut in half.
  • Carefully slice 3 cm wide steaks (you’ll get 2-3 steaks depending on the size of the cauliflower) from each half of cauliflower head.
  • Arrange the steaks on the baking tray in a single layer. Set aside.
  • To make the spice mixture, combine together cumin and paprika in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • Meanwhile, drizzle the steaks with 1 tablespoon oil. Sprinkle with half of spice mixture. Turn over and sprinkle with the remaining spice mixture. Flip them over again.
  • Transfer tray to the oven. Bake for 15 minutes.
  • Flip the steaks and drizzle with remaining olive oil. Continue roasting for another another 15 minutes until tender and golden.
  • Serve with lemon wedges and avocado hollandaise or your favorite steak sauce.
