Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoon self raising flour
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoon cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoon melted and cooled butter
  • 3 tablespoon milk
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Place all the dry ingredients – self raising flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder and salt - in a large bowl. Mix. Set aside.
  • Break the egg into another bowl, and whisk lightly. Add in butter, milk and vanilla extract. Stir.
  • Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients, and pour in the egg mixture. Mix together to make smooth batter without any lumps.
  • Pour the batter into a 500 ml mug. Microwave for 90 seconds. Top with whipped cream or ice cream if you like.
  • Serve immediately.
