Steak fajitas. The secret to this delicious classic dinner is the fajita seasoning which complements the juicy steak and allow the flavors to shine. The marinated, cooked steak strips are tossed with vibrant veggies and served with warm tortillas, salsa, sour cream, and avocados for a complete meal. Flavourful and delicious!
Between all the incredible recipes and ever changing trends, there are plenty of dishes that exude timeless deliciousness. Certainly, some recipes have been handed down from generations to generations withstanding the test of time, particularly the evolution of viral recipes. Here’s a recipe that’s timeless enough to adorn your everyday dinner table.
Steak fajitas to bring that classic, old-world vibes to your kitchen. The flavors of this dish relies on the classic Tex-Mex fajita seasoning, an aromatic blend of spices that’s easily available and quick to make. This seasoning tends to work well with any protein or veggies you like, but creates a unique combination with steak. While the tender steak tastes amazing with the seasoning, the tricolored bell peppers (capsicum) add a pop of color throughout the dish.
Steak Fajita Seasoning
We’ll be using the authentic homemade fajita seasoning mix to marinate steak in this recipe. With the steak, you can either slice it into strips to pan fry or grill whole steak. In both versions of the recipe, you can use the same marinade. Apart from the basic marinade consisting of ground cumin, paprika, red chili powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, onion powder, and garlic powder, I highly recommend adding a generous splash of fresh orange juice.
Steak Fajita Recipe
Let the steak strips marinate in the spice mixture alongside salt and pepper for at least 30 minutes. Then pan fry over medium-high heat until cooked through. The veggies – the vibrant trio of bell peppers and onions – also get a quick stir fry with a touch of garlic. To serve, load warm tortillas with steak strips, veggies, fresh salsa, sour cream, avocado, and coriander (cilantro) leaves. Perfect!
