Spicy Duck with Herbed Yogurt Dip
Spicy baked duck pieces served with yogurt dip.

Ingredients for spicy duck
- 1 kg whole duck cut into medium sized pieces
- 5-6 garlic cloves
- 1 ” piece ginger
- 3-4 small green chillies
- 2 teaspoon ground coriander
- ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
Ingredients for herbed yogurt dip
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 teaspoon parsley leaves very finely chopped
- A pinch of garam masala
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
To make spicy duck:
- Place ginger, garlic and green chilies in a blender. Add a little amount of water, and grind to a smooth paste.
- Add in ground coriander, ground turmeric, ground black pepper, garam masala, vinegar, and enough salt to the ginger garlic mixture. Add more water (only if necessary) to make a smooth paste.
- Marinate duck pieces for about one hour in the refrigerator.
- Now preheat the oven to 200 degree Celsius(180 degree Celsius for fan forced oven).
- Place the marinated duck pieces on a baking tray lined with grease-proof paper.
- The spicy duck will be ready in 45 – 50 minutes.
To make herbed yogurt dip
- Place all the ingredients except garam masala in a deep bowl.
- Mix thoroughly. To serve, transfer yogurt dip to a serving bowl, and sprinkle with garam masala.

I first had duck recently on a trip to Quebec, and I was surprised by how tender it was I am just not brave enough to try it at home....I think this looks simple enough for a first try, thank you for sharing 🙂
