How To Make Savory Mashed Sweet Potatoes
These sweet potatoes are so much better than your average mashed potatoes. To make this, start with peeling the potatoes. Cut them in halves and then chop them into large chunks. Now, to cook these sweet potatoes, add them to a large pot of salted boiling water and simmer until cooked through.
Once the sweet potatoes are cooked, drain and place in a large bowl ready to be mashed with a potato masher. If you like a fine purée, you can also blitz the cooked sweet potatoes in a food processor.
Now, it’s time to add in the remaining ingredients. First and foremost, softened butter. Give it a quick mix. To add more richness to this mashed sweet potatoes recipe, you will also need to add in some cream and milk. You can add in more cream if necessary to achieve the right texture.
The spices in this recipe are totally optional. However, they add a nice contrast to the sweetness of the sweet potatoes. Add a generous pinch of ground black pepper as well. Together, they make the best savory mashed sweet potatoes ever.
Don’t forget to serve this ultimate mashed sweet potatoes with your Thanksgiving turkey.
