Masala peanut chaat. Light, healthy, and packed with bold flavors, this is the perfect summer salad. Fresh produce meets crunchy roasted peanuts to create a beautiful side that’s delicious as well as fun to eat. This dish comes together in minutes, and it’s absolutely tasty.
There’s a reason fresh salads are as delicious as they are. Besides being a simple side, they are both healthy and nutritious. Salads typically involve lots of chopping and prepping, yet they are one of my favorite sides to add to any meal.
Currently, I’m obsessed with this peanut loaded Indian style salad or chaat that brings in a slew of flavors and textures. Crunchy roasted peanuts alongside vibrant veggies means simple deliciousness at first glance. Sounds interesting? Then, do yourself a favor and whip up this gorgeous chaat for your next Indian inspired meal.
The veggies are totally customizable with seasonal produce, and it’s tailored for summer meals. Again, this salad pairs well with spicy Indian meals. I especially adore the addition of pomegranate arils adding a subtle sweetness to the chat masala spiced dish. Honestly, I have a feeling that you’ll love this simple chaat as much as I do.
Key Ingredients In Masala Peanut Chaat
- Peanuts - The essential ingredient that adds the crunch as well as flavor.

- Chaat masala - The classic Indian spice mix quintessential in chaats. The melange of spices makes this salad so unique and tasty.
- Cucumbers - Finely chopped cucumbers are an essential ingredient of Indian street food scene.
How To Make Masala Peanut Chaat
Prep ingredients - Make sure the peanuts are roasted lightly for intense flavor. Chop the cucumbers, red onions and green chilies very finely. If you love coriander (cilantro) leaves in your salad, add them. The pomegranates add a sweet flavor to the salad contrasting the spicy chat masala nicely.
Make the salad - All you need to do is add the peanuts, veggies and fruits to a serving bowl, and then toss with fresh lemon juice and chat masala. To level up the heat, you can also add a little red chili powder.
