There’s no doubt that we always prefer dishes that are easy to make yet delicious. Having said that, classic recipes are certainly the best, but there’s nothing better than a quick sweet treat after a delicious dinner. And here’s an easy twist on a classic recipe with delicious results.
Upside Down Apple Pie with Puff Pastry Recipe
This recipe only requires three ingredients – puff pastry, honey and apple slices.
Start with cutting thawed puff pastry sheet into 6 rectangles. You can also use puff pastry squares or circles to make these pies. Next up, core and slice apples. I prefer to slice them as thin as possible. This will give you that unique “melt-in-your-mouth” texture.
Now, let’s make upside down apple pie. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Squeeze honey on to the baking paper, then top with the apple slices. Cover with puff pastry rectangle and press down to seal the edges.
Once you have prepped the pastries, brush with egg for that beautiful golden finish. Finally, bake. Use a thin spatula to flip over the pastries carefully. And done.
Beautiful apple dessert to serve with ice cream and a generous drizzle of sweet honey. Yum!
