Oat Wraps. Easy, soft, 2-ingredient, gluten free wraps made with your favorite nutrient packed oats. These delicious crepe-like wraps are ideal to customize with your favorite savory or sweet fillings. Who doesn’t love a healthy substitute to your regular wraps?
If you love delicious, filling wraps, but want to substitute them with a healthy, gluten free alternative, here’s your solution. Making light and simple wraps from just one ingredient may sound a bit complicated, but trust me, this is the gluten free wrap recipe you need in your life.
Surprisingly enough, these oat wraps are made with just one ingredient – rolled oats. And oh, just a little water to make the batter. Don’t forget the seasonings, a light sprinkle of salt and an optional addition of cinnamon or cayenne pepper. Again, the filling options are endless – eggs for breakfast, grilled meat or veggies for lunch and dinner, and nutella to create heavenly dessert.
Oat Wraps Recipe
The key element is, of course, oats. To be exact, old-fashioned rolled oats. All you need to do is soak them in water for about 2 hours. The oats need to be soft to grind into a smooth paste. If the batter is too thick, you can add more water to get that pouring consistency very similar to pancake batter. Season with a little salt and you are ready to make your crepe-style oat wraps.
Now pour a little batter into a pan and spread it out very thinly. I like to add a light drizzle of oil while the wraps are cooking. When the batter is set and one side is lightly browned, flip over and cook the other side.
Finally, add your favorite fillings to customize these soft and light oat wraps.
