Pasta alla vodka. Creamy and spiked with vodka, creating this delicious pasta dish is quick and super easy. The crunchy bits of bacon, creamy tomato sauce on vodka base, parmesan, red pepper flakes – all contribute to the richness and deliciousness of this vibrant pasta dish. A generous sprinkle of basil adds that pop of color to the dish.
Is there anything quite as delicious as ‘al dente’ pasta in luscious cream sauce? A classic dish featuring traditional ingredients, it can be made easily at home. The key is the right consistency of the sauce highlighting the perfect combination of all the beautiful ingredients. And how about adding a simple ingredient like vodka to spike the sauce. Incredible, right?
This pasta alla vodka recipe is actually inspired by the Gigi Hadid’s Tiktok viral pasta that features pasta tossed in vibrant and beautiful silky sauce. The recipe is super delicious, but I have customized it to create the ultimate version.
How To Make Penne Alla Vodka
Start with cooking pasta. I used penne in this recipe, however, you can use your favorite. While pasta is cooking, brown chopped bacon until crispy. Next up, saute shallots, garlic and red chili flakes in butter. Butter can be replaced with oil if you like, however, it adds more richness to the sauce.
Now, you will need to add in vodka, and let it simmer until almost evaporated. Add the ingredients that give the sauce its vibrant red color – tomato paste and diced tomatoes. And to make this pasta alla vodka more saucy, pour in a little cream and stir in grated parmesan. You can always add reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thin.
Finally, toss pasta in the sauce. And don’t forget the crunchy bacon. For the final touch, I like to sprinkle this with plenty of parmesan, basil and red chili flakes.
