Mango lassi – Create a family favorite drink in minutes with this refreshing Indian style mango smoothie recipe. The refreshing blend of juicy mangoes, yogurt, milk and a touch of ground cardamom is the perfect way to start a summer day.
Smoothies are one of my favorite ways to refresh and rejuvenate in a healthier way on any day of the year. When every season brings you an exotic array of fruits and veggies, I just can’t resist the temptation to whip up vibrant drinks that’s natural and full of goodness. I think I make smoothies more often in summer than in any other season. I know, they’re just perfect for the hot weather. Moreover, summer has my most favorite fruit- mangoes.
This healthy mango lassi is loaded with all things delicious, and it’s basically a combo of fresh juicy mangoes, yogurt and milk. A bit of sweetener, I mean a healthy option like honey adds the wow factor. It’s vibrant, nutritious and full of yummy goodness of mangoes. And the perfect addition to your smoothie menu when mangoes are in season.
In my opinion, whether you are young or old, adding smoothies to your everyday menu is a super healthy idea. Talking about smoothies, I’ve a few favorites on my list including this grape lassi.

One of my favorite part of this mango lassi is it’s vibrant color. Beautiful yellow from the mangoes definitely adds to the aesthetic appeal to this smoothie.
Although this mango lassi is super simple, it’s full of the awesome flavors of fresh mangoes and ground cardamom. I love the depth of flavor cardamom adds to sweet dishes. Obviously a perfect combo!
I also love mangoes paired with crunchy nuts, so add a few cashews or almonds to your smoothie if you like them. Or an additional topping of chopped nuts would be equally good. Having said that, nuts are totally optional in this recipe, and I’ve opted for a nut-free version. Again, the traditional mango lassi doesn’t contain any nuts.
While this lassi is a refreshing summer day drink, it’s also great as a breakfast option or filling snack. With the soaring temperatures we are experiencing right now, I’m totally craving this delicious Indian style smoothie.

- 2 cups chopped fresh ripe mangoes
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 cup milk
- ¼ tsp ground cardamom (cardamom powder)
- 2 tbsp honey (or sugar)
- Place all the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.
